WARRING FROM A PLACE OF VICTORY

There is a difference between warring for victory and warring from victory. When you war for victory, you can find yourself fighting as though everything depends upon how hard you pray, how much you push, or how intensely you respond. But when you war from victory, your posture changes because you understand that you are not trying to make Christ victorious. He already is. Colossians 2:15 tells us that Christ disarmed principalities and powers and triumphed over them.

There comes a point in your spiritual maturity when your warfare has to change. You stop fighting from panic and begin standing from position. You stop allowing every attack to determine your emotional posture, responding to every voice, and chasing every disturbance. You begin to understand that everything does not require the same response. Some things require prayer, some require wisdom, some require boundaries, some require silence, and some simply require you to stand.

Ephesians 6:13 says, “And having done all, to stand.” Sometimes we think warfare always has to look like movement, intensity, or constant engagement, but there are battles where the instruction of God is simply to hold your position. You have prayed. You have obeyed. You have done what God instructed you to do. Now your warfare is refusing to be moved from what God has already established.

VICTORY HAS A POSTURE AND THAT POSTURE IS STAND.

Standing means you do not have to prove yourself, explain yourself, or fight everybody and everything around you. You can remain in peace even while warfare is happening around you. Peace does not mean there is no battle; sometimes peace is evidence that the battle no longer has control of you. When you know where you stand in Christ, you can discern what deserves your attention and what is simply attempting to distract you from your position.

And hear this: the enemy may not always be trying to defeat you; sometimes he is trying to move you. If he can move you out of peace, focus, obedience, confidence, or spiritual alignment, he can have you fighting battles you were never instructed to fight. Distraction can become warfare when it succeeds in pulling you away from what God told you to do. That is why everything that demands your attention does not deserve your attention.

So this is your Prophetic Pause today: DON’T MOVE. Stand in what God said. Stand in what Christ accomplished. Stand when your emotions are unsettled and when circumstances have not changed yet. Stand even when you cannot see the manifestation, because your confidence is not in what you see; your confidence is in the One who has already secured your victory.

I don’t war to get peace; I war while guarding my peace. I don’t war to discover who I am; I war knowing who I am. I don’t war begging for authority; I stand in the authority Christ has given me. I don’t war afraid of what I see; I stand on what God has said.

Victory has a posture.

STAND.
