Prophetic Pause with Dr. K: The Cord Isn’t As Long As You Think

The Cord Isn’t As Long As You Think

Matthew 6:33

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what it really means to stay connected to God.

We often picture our relationship with Him as though we’re attached by a very long extension cord believing we have plenty of room to drift, take detours, entertain distractions, and still remain fully connected to His original plan.

But what if the cord isn’t nearly as long as we think?

What if the more mature we become, the more we discover that walking with God requires greater sensitivity, greater obedience, and greater proximity to His voice?

God’s thoughts are higher than ours.

His ways are beyond our understanding.

His plans are far more precise than our preferences.

The Kingdom isn’t built on how far we can wander before returning. It is built on remaining close enough to hear His whisper.

Jesus spoke of a narrow path for a reason. The narrow path isn’t about restriction it is about alignment. Every step is intentional. Every turn is directed by the Father.

The farther we drift from His presence, the weaker our spiritual signal becomes. We may still be active, gifted, and even productive, yet no longer operating from Heaven’s headquarters.

The goal isn’t simply to stay plugged in. The goal is to stay close enough that Heaven can direct every step.

Today, ask yourself:

Have I been stretching the cord, or have I been staying close to the Source?

The safest place is never where you have the most freedom to wander.

The safest place is where your life remains fully surrendered to God’s direction.

Pause. Listen. Receive. Then Move.
