QUIET YOUR SOUL
PROPHETIC PAUSE WITH DR. K
QUIET YOUR SOUL
“Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.”
Psalm 131:2, NKJV
There are seasons when God is not asking you to do more. He is teaching you how to become quiet within.
David said, “I have calmed and quieted my soul.” Notice that he did not say God removed everything that was happening around him. He said he had calmed his soul.
That means there is a responsibility we have concerning our own inner world.
Your soul is the realm of your mind, will, and emotions. And when you have been carrying responsibilities, making decisions, navigating transitions, caring for people, processing disappointment, and trying to discern what God is saying, your body can be sitting still while your soul is still running.
You can be physically resting and mentally working.
You can be in a quiet room and still have noise inside of you.
You can even be praying while your soul is racing ahead trying to figure everything out.
But there comes a moment when you have to tell your soul, “Be still. God is here.”
Quieting your soul does not mean ignoring what you feel. It means not allowing what you feel to govern you.
You can say, “This hurt. I’m tired. I don’t understand. I don’t know what’s next,” and still choose peace.
Stop trying to solve everything in your soul.
Stop replaying conversations.
Stop rehearsing possibilities.
Stop carrying what should be surrendered to God.
Some things you will not think your way through.
A quiet soul is a trusting soul.
You don’t have to know when.
You don’t have to know how.
You don’t have to know what’s next.
Sometimes you simply need to know:
God has me.
PROPHETIC PAUSE:
Don’t let urgency move you ahead of peace, and don’t mistake internal noise for divine instruction.
Quiet your soul. God is working while you rest.
